World Mental Health Day 2022

Oct 10, 2022

Let’s talk about something that affects millions of people all over the world. It’s so common that 1 in 4 of us will struggle with it at some point in our lives, and yet it’s still a topic that isn’t talked about often enough…

World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to open up about any mental health issues we might be facing and to check in with those around us to let them know that we’re there for them.

We all play a collective role in ending the stigma around mental health struggles, which is why we’ve compiled a list of simple but effective things you can do this World Mental Day (and beyond!) to help.

  • Share your experiences with mental health troubles with a friend, family member or colleague to open up the conversation

  • If you’re not quite ready to speak to others about mental health, journaling is a great way to get thoughts out of your head and figure out exactly how you feel

  • Try out a new hobby or activity like yoga, hiking, dancing etc. Exercise is one of the fastest ways to release endorphins

  • Make a nutritious meal (or order one in, no shame here!) to nourish your mind and body

  • Pay someone a compliment or do a good deed - you never know when you might make someone’s day!

  • Get out in nature - studies show that spending time outdoors reduces stress levels and helps you feel calm

  • Have an early night and catch those Z’s - good quality sleep is one of the most restorative things for our bodies

  • If you have the means to, donate to a mental health charity by either gifting money or volunteering your time

  • Reflect on your own mental health and how you look after it

This year’s theme for World Mental Health Day ‘make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’ which is something that we stand behind 100%!
