David describes his inspiration for the watch:
"The inspiration came from the idea of perceiving time not just as numbers, but as an experience, something vibrant, emotional, and sometimes surreal.
I wanted to bring a sense of curiosity and playfulness into something as mechanical and routine as a watch.
The central eye motif reflects how we constantly "watch" time, while the vibrant colours and abstract forms draw from pop art and retro-futurism, challenging the viewer to rethink how they relate to the passing of moments."
David Oku
David Oku is a London-based illustrator and animator with Nigerian-Italian roots, born in Germany and shaped by a lifelong journey through cultures and continents.
His work is a celebration of identity, connection, and joy, fuelled by vibrant colours, bold compositions, and a love for storytelling. David blends influences from his heritage and travels across Europe and Africa to create illustrations that are dynamic, expressive, and full of movement.
Studying at the London College of Communication helped refine his voice and deepen his passion for visual expression. It was also where he found a creative community, built lasting friendships, and grew a real hunger to become the artist he is today. David’s work often explores themes of unity, empowerment, and optimism, inviting people into worlds where culture, imagination, and emotion meet.
David loves collaborating with other artists and bringing energy into projects that span everything from fashion and music to social impact. Working with global clients like Nike, PepsiCo, Mercedes-Benz, Adobe, WWF, The New York Times, Western Digital, DDB and Sphere Vegas across campaigns, live events and immersive experiences. Whether sketching by hand or animating a full digital piece, everything he create aims to connect, uplift and celebrate the colourful complexity of who we are.
